In a move straight out of a madman’s mind and another madman’s relentless pursuit to “save the child” from non-existent vaccine trauma, late last week the number of vaccine recommendations were dropped. This was to bring the US more in line with how peer countries approach vaccines.
A constant chorus of these past 18 months in my head has been “you dumb fucks”.
But really it has been on repeat in my head since November 5th, 2024.
None of these people are doctors.
None of these people are pediatricians.
None of these people are statisticians.
None of these people have been trained how to evaluate a research article.
All of these people scan the abstract, or have someone read it to them, and cherry pick what they think the paper is telling them. Whatever can be twisted to tell the story they are desperate to tell. To fit in with the story they’ve had in their minds since forever. And nothing can tell them any different. No matter the cost of children’s health. No matter the cost of children’s lives.
Or worse, they just read the title of the research article and magically think they know what the paper is about.
Because whatever lives in their heads that makes them believe and spread this bullshit is alive and well.
One of the vaccine recommendations that was dropped? Covid.
Of course it was.
This was done quietly last week.
No oval office signing ceremony.
Those who care about children, including most pediatricians, and those of us who want to be in the know, are appalled.
Of course, this decision was made without input from an advisory committee.
